Putrajaya Wetlands

Putrajaya is a city planned and built to meet the challenges of the new millennium. It is a “City in a Garden” that turns to nature for inspiration, resulting in a landscape dominated by the picturesque Putrajaya Lake. A high standard of lake water quality is one of the most important factors for the success of this scenic centerpiece, and withnthe construction of Putrajaya Wetlands, the solution was found in simulating yet another gift of nature.

Bukit Badong Water Treatment Plant

Bukit Badong Water Treatment Plant (BBWTP) together with Rasa Water Treatment Plant was developed to meet the ever increasing demand for water in Selangor and the Federal Territory especially along the western and northern corridors until the year 2006. BBWTP of 800 MLD is to serve the western corridor and is developed in two equal stages of 400 MLD.

Selangor Dam

The Selangor Dam was initiated in the wake of the 1998 water crisis in Selangor and the Federal Territory. The Selangor Dam is a 110m high rock-filled dam founded on solid granite bedrock. It is situated at the narrow gorge on massive granite bedrock just downstream of the confluence of Sungai Selangor and Sungai Gerachi.

Smart Tunnel

Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel ( SMART ), is initiated to alleviate the flood problem in the city centre for Kuala Lumpur. The SMART tunnel, 9.7 km long and 12.8 m diameter, is used to divert floodwater away and bypass the city centre. The storage capacity of the tunnel is 1.0 million m3. The tunnel regulates and keeps the water level in Sungai Klang manageable throughout the year. It improves the efficiency of the hinterland drainage within the city.
